Dmitry Rogozin announced today that the discussion of the first stage of work on the preliminary design of the Russian Orbital Station will take place on May 26 at the presidium of the Scientific and Technical Council of Roscosmos together with the Space Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
“On May 26, we are holding the presidium of the Roscosmos Scientific and Technical Council together with the Space Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences. And we will already be discussing the first stage of work on preliminary design.”– said Dmitry Rogozin.
Rogozin noted that at the first stage of the discussion of the sketch of the Russian Orbital Service Station, “first of all, the so-called orbital inclination” will be considered. “What we want to see from the station is either it will be a high-latitude station that will pass all points of the globe every two days and every hour and a half it will be over the Arctic, or it will be a station that will keep its work in that orbit, at that inclination where the ISS is currently operating, by separating the Russian segment from the rest of the ISS. This issue will be actively discussed on May 26″– said the head of Roscosmos.
Earlier, information appeared on the public procurement website that the state corporation Roscosmos and the rocket and space corporation Energia signed a state contract for the development of a draft design of a promising Russian orbital station. A few days ago, Dmitry Rogozin published images of a promising Russian orbital station on his Telegram channel.
