A survey commissioned by NordVPN, a Virtual Private Network tester, reveals that 96% of Brazilians take their cell phone or other mobile devices to bed, placing the country in second place among the 17 analyzed.
Furthermore, the survey shows that people in Brazil are among the most likely to use multiple devices when lying down. Among the most popular are smartphones, used by 94% of respondents, followed by televisions (56%) and laptops/computers (42%).
The survey highlights that the majority of respondents (76%) browse social media, while 66% prefer to watch videos, such as on YouTube, or check emails and messages (63%). Other popular activities include chatting with friends and family (55%) and playing online games (50%).
Research methodology
The survey was commissioned by NordVPN and conducted by Cint between February 12 and March 4, 2024. The target audience was residents of the US, UK, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Poland, Mexico and Japan, aged between 18 and 64 years.
In total, 15,600 people participated in the survey, with a sample of a thousand individuals in each of the participating countries, except in Spain and Switzerland, where there were 800 respondents in each nation.
