Researchers find out more about the death of Gene Hackman and Betsy Arakawa

Researchers in Santa Fe, New Mexico, discovered New information related to the deaths of actor Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa who changed the timeline of their last days.

Hackman and Arakawa, married since 1991, were found dead at their home in February. Earlier this month, the New Mexico medical investigator’s office revealed that both died from natural causes. Their deaths occurred at least a week difference and were attributed to different causes.

The authorities had previously estimated the probable date of Arakawa’s death based on what they rebuilt about their activity, stating that their last known communication occurred on February 11.

It was seen in surveillance images entering stores that day, before returning to the closed community where they lived around 8:15 pm. However, after obtaining mobile data, the researchers found that Arakawa used their phone on February 12.

“We can now confirm that Mrs. Hackman was used on the morning of February 12 to call a medical center in Santa Fe, the Cloudberry Health. In total, three calls were made, all to the medical center, ”said the Santa Fe sheriff’s office in a statement.

“That afternoon, a call received from the same hospital appeared as a lost call on Mrs. Hackman.”

Arakawa, 65, died due to hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, a rare disease that can infect humans by contact with contaminated rodents, according to New Mexico medical investigator office. His body was found on the floor of the couple’s bathroom.

Hackman, 95, probably died several days after Arakawa on February 18, when his pacemaker registered his last heartbeat, according to the authorities. Oscar -winning actor died of cardiovascular disease -related complications and suffered from advanced Alzheimer’s, which, according to the authorities, was “a significant factor” for his death.

The couple had three dogs: Zinna, Nikita and Bear. Zinna, a mixture of Australian Kelpie, was found dead in a little house in the bathroom where Arakawa was discovered. However, the couple’s two surviving dogs were adopted and received new homes.

“In response to numerous concerned questions about Hackman’s pets, both Bear and Nikita were placed in appropriate homes,” said the personal representative of the couple’s estate. “Both are safe, healthy and adjusting to the new environments.”

According to a statement on the Facebook page of the Santa Fe County Sheriff, the German Shepherd and the Mestizo Dog of Akita and Pastor were found wandering the Hackman property. The front and back doors of the house were open, allowing the animals to come in and out freely.

The Santa FE County Animal Control Division worked with the family to ensure dog safety.
