A member of a gang specializing in residence theft was arrested last Tuesday (13) after robbing a property on Cassiano Ricardo Street, located in the Brooklin neighborhood, in the south of São Paulo. The criminal group fled the police for about 50 kilometers and the man was arrested at a Emergency Care Unit (UPA) in Mauá, in the metropolitan region.
According to the Civil Police, the agents received information about the group’s activity in the region. To enter the residence, the criminals used a cloned remote control. After the crime, the gang began the escape on Avenida dos Bandeirantes, Imigrantes Highway and Mario Covas Rodoanel, towards ABC.
On the Rodoanel, the police tried to intercept the car in which the criminals were. They reacted and fired at the agents, who retaliated the shots. With the confusion, they fled to Mauá (SP). Jeep Renegade was located in the Jardim Zaira neighborhood.
After the location of the car, police received the information that man was in a UPA and had a firearm wound. He admitted participation in the crime, but did not pass information about the partners.
Rodrigo Mesquita dos Santos, as identified by the corporation, carried a cell phone from the victim of the robbery. The involved is responsible for theft, criminal association, receiving, illegal possession of firearm and tampering with a motor vehicle identifier.
In the renegade, a 38 caliber revolver was found with shaved numbering. According to police, the vehicle used to escape the criminals was complaining of theft in the region of CEAGESP, in the west of the capital.
The stolen materials of the residence, such as two backpacks with three cell phones, a speaker, a notebook, a stream Deck device, plus four decorative garruchas, were also located inside the car.
Gloves, screwdrivers and a goat foot were seized.
