Residents protest against barber’s death in the north of Rio

Residents of the Terra Nostra Community, in Barros Filho, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro, held a protest late in the morning of Thursday (1st), in response to the death of barber Fábio Oliveira Forte, 25 years.

The group closed streets of the neighborhood with barricades in flames and held posters with requests for justice.

According to witnesses, Fabio was shot in the midst of a confrontation between Red Command (CV) and the third Pure Command (TCP) traffickers, rival criminal factions that vie for control of the region. He was rescued and taken to the Souza Aguiar Municipal Hospital in the city center, but could not resist the injuries.

The information was confirmed by the press office of the Municipal Health Secretariat.


In an official note, the Military Police reported that policing is being reinforced in the region to ensure the safety of residents and avoid further confrontations.
