Restaurant chain in Malta Paul’s Bay Will Start Accepting Payments in Cryptocurrency

The owner of the popular Maltese restaurant chain St. Paul’s Bay, which was awarded a Michelin star, Marvin Gauci announced his readiness to accept payment in cryptocurrency.

Marvin Gauci tweeted about the start of work on integrating cryptocurrency payments into BTC and LTC, and also invited guests to try “real Proof-of-Steak” at his restaurant Caviar & Bull Malta. He added that the new service will also be extended to his Budapest branch restaurant Caviar & Bull.

Chef Gauci is not only popular, but also an iconic person in Malta. His gastronomic career began at the age of 13, in a small beach restaurant. Thanks to his talent and many years of professional training, Gauci has achieved worldwide recognition, a Michelin star and the informal status of Malta’s “gastronomic ambassador”.

According to Gauci, he “thinks in a new and creative way” and goes above and beyond when it comes to payment methods for his guests. He was ready to accept cryptocurrencies and join the crypto community back in 2018, when Malta was developing as a “blockchain island”.

Recall that in early March, the American fast food restaurant chain Shake Shack launched a promotion under which customers will receive 15% cashback in cryptocurrency as a reward for purchases.
