Restrictions return from Germany to Holland, “It’s the pandemic of the unvaccinated”

The Green Pass advances in Europe. If theItaly is thinking of extending the obligation to halfway through at least the end of spring 2022, other countries are introducing it for new activities. These choices are a consequence of the increase in infections that are being seen in many states. There is not only the introduction of green certification or the expansion of its use, but also other measures from masks to social distancing that in many countries was no longer there. The German health minister said guard should be raised. And he is not the only one to say it. According to WHO data, Europe is the only region in the world where the infection is growing. Cases are on the rise for the fifth consecutive week.

GERMANY
The country is grappling with a new wave. “The fourth wave of the pandemic is already underway with all its might. We are at the pandemic of the unvaccinated“. Minister Jens Spahn explained. “In the last 24 hours there have been 194 deaths from Covid, a week ago there were 114,” said the president of the Robert Koch institute, Lothar Wieler. It is the unvaccinated who get sick and the government aims to speed up the arrival of the third dose. The incidence, the number of infected per 100 thousand people in 7 days, is 146.6, almost three times the threshold of 50 new infections. Only the UK does worse in Western Europe. The minister does not speak of the introduction of mandatory vaccination, but asks the local governments that deal with health more controls in particular where there are people at risk.

NETHERLANDS
Until now, the Green Pass was only required in indoor restaurants. It will also become mandatory for museums and the outdoor areas of bars and restaurants. The Dutch government monitors the hospitalization and intensive care situation until 12 November and then decides on further restrictive measures. “If you are not vaccinated, think again,” said the premier Rutte. There is already a return to the social distancing of one and a half meters and the obligation to wear a mask in railway stations and museums. University students and those who work in contact with others must also wear it.

AUSTRIA
From November, the Green pass at work with vaccination, negative swab or recovery for no more than six months is mandatory. It applies to those who interact with other people. The employer must carry out random checks. Those who do not have it must wear a mask to work. Vienna speculated a lockdown only for the unvaccinated. If the numbers remain high (they are already over 300 per week in intensive care) it will be possible to book some evening events only if vaccinated and only the molecular swab will be valid, not the rapid one.

RUSSIA
Moscow is practically in lockdown. Until 7 November, bars and restaurants will be closed, as well as shops that do not sell food or essential goods. Schools are closed. Bars and restaurants can offer take-away and home delivery services.

LATVIA
Latvia is in lockdown until at least 15 November. The shops are closed and gatherings prohibited. There is a curfew from 8 to 5 in the morning in one of the countries with the lowest vaccination rate in the European Union.

ROMANIA
Same situation in Romania with records of infections and deaths, even up to 500 per day. Only 37% of the population had two doses of the vaccine. Hospitals are saturated and there are patients who have moved abroad. The numbers of vaccinations in Bulgaria are even lower.

CHINA
Given the new outbreaks in the country, Beijing has cut back on air flights. The government has invited the population to have supplies of food and basic necessities to “face any emergencies”. The policy here is that of “zero Covid”, in the first case the activities of a large number of people, even entire communities, are blocked. The National Health Commission has chosen the path of targeted lockdowns and frequent tampons.
