Resuming kissing (freely) is what Italians miss most

Lack of freedom and lack of affectionate gestures are the main inconveniences felt by Italians in this period of pandemic. A need that emerged fromsurvey conducted by AstraRicerche on behalf of Tau Marin which in February 2021, thanks to online interviews with a sample of 1,032 individuals aged between 15 and 65 years. The Italians suffered greatly from the lack of gestures of affection: a lot of 47.1% and quite a lot of 28.6%. Above all, women over 35 suffered in particular, 57% the 55-65 year olds, 55% the 45-54 year olds and 52% the 35-44 year olds.

In the ranking of the most missing gestures of affection during the last year, the Hugs (cited by 28.8% in first place), followed however by smiles covered by the mask (19.5%) – and i kisses, whether they are affectionate and friendly (12.3%), love and passionate (11.4%) or greetings on the cheeks (37.9% of the interviewees).

After all, Edmond Rostand used to say that the kiss is a pink apostrophe between the words I love you, but what do the Italians say about the kiss? What is it for them? It is love, affection, intimacy and passion and they miss it very much. For the very young, a kiss represents mutual trust (I take care of you and protect you and at the same time I entrust myself to you). 25-34 year olds, who are in a phase of life where they are more likely to encounter great love, consider kissing an expression of their passion and mutual trust. Passion becomes love, affection and intimacy for 35-54 year olds and tenderness and friendship for 55-65 year olds. The word kiss leads the majority of Italians (66.2%) to think about the kiss of love (especially among men -74% and among the very young – 78%), while women 55-65 years old think first of all about kissing loving.

And what it takes for a kiss to be unforgettable? First of all, thorough oral hygiene.

Morena Balbi, graduated in 2006 dental hygienist and graduated counselor in 2019, as councelor for Tau Marin, offered some advice to do it-

1. First of all, daily cleaning of the teeth without compromise is fundamental: constant, effective and personalized.
2. The manual toothbrush is better because it allows you to modulate brushing pressure and speed in full compliance with individual needs, allows full control of the movement by optimally alternating the removal of residues and gingival massage.
3. It is not important to spend more time on oral hygiene, but only to make the most of the time you dedicate to our teeth, choosing the right technique, the right products and learning to use them well.

Proper oral hygiene also serves to prevent common pathologies, such as gingival hypertrophy, increased exudate and increased bleeding, all attributable to poor hygiene due to laziness and carelessness.
