A 77-year-old retired military police officer was arrested for the crime of attempted qualified homicide after shooting a 61-year-old man identified as his neighbor in the face, in Contagem, in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte, last Monday (23) .
The case was recorded by security cameras that show what happened in the Riacho Novo neighborhood.
In the images it is possible to see that the two men appear to be arguing when the PM, who is wearing a white shirt, pulls out his gun. Minutes before the crime, the victim kneels on the ground, but is shot by the man, who fires the shot.
According to the Military Police, a garrison was called to the scene and found a firearm. At the time of the approach, it was discovered that the perpetrator of the crime was a retired military police officer.
The man revealed to the PM that he committed the crime due to an argument with his neighbor caused by a situation that, according to him, bothered him.
The victim was hit in the eye area and taken to Contagem Municipal Hospital.
The examination was carried out and some traces were collected. The materials will support the investigation.
The suspect was made available to justice for the appropriate legal measures.
