Retractable roof, no steering wheel and body from the future: Cadillac unveils luxury electric car concept

While some of the major auto brands at CES 2022 were showcasing production electric cars, Cadillac decided to bet on incredible future technologies that, if they get to production, then in ten to twenty years. A clear proof of this is the concept called InnerSpace, which epitomizes the automotive industry of the near future – it is an unmanned vehicle, in which there is not even a steering wheel in the cabin, which runs entirely on electricity and provides potential passengers with the maximum level of comfort.

It is worth noting that the company decided to create a concept of a rather long coupe, which, at the same time, is designed for only two seats instead of four. Due to this, passengers are provided with a lot of legroom – in the cabin on the couch (instead of ordinary chairs), you can literally lie, enjoying watching entertainment content. To do this, an impressively sized curved display is placed inside the cabin (it occupies the entire front part of the cabin) with touch and voice control, and the operating system of the car is Ultifi based on Linux.

At the same time, the classic components of the InnerSpace body were simply deprived – there are no side mirrors, which is no longer news, and the landing doors open not only away from the body, but also upwards so that the passenger does not hit his head. Even the windshield is presented here more in the form of a plug and a tribute to automotive history – passengers will still not see absolutely nothing behind the display. However, like many concepts on the market, this car is still only a fantasy of engineers and designers – there is no talk of serial production of InnerSpace yet.
