The bodies of 1,212 Ukraine soldiers killed in the front line in the war with Russia were recovered today, as Ukraine announced “the bodies of 1,212 fallen defenders have been returned to Ukraine,” the government official said in a statement. “Researchers and forensic experts will determine the identities of the dead as soon as possible,” he added. On June 2, Russia and Ukraine held the second round of peace talks in Istanbul, where they agreed to exchange more captives – in the younger and most seriously injured – and to return the corpses of 12,000 soldiers. The Kremlin then announced that 1,212 bodies of Ukrainian soldiers were in chopped containers at the exchange point. Source: RES
