Reuters: Egypt and Turkey start exploratory contacts

Turkey and Egypt are making an effort to normalize relations, starting exploratory contacts.

Relations between the two countries are strained after the overthrow of the President of the Muslim Community, Mohamed Morsi, and the assumption of power by him Abdel Fattah Sisi, which o Erdogan has called in the past “Tyrant”.

The exploratory contacts will take place between the Deputy Foreign Ministers of Turkey and Egypt in Cairo, today Wednesday and tomorrow Thursday.

As the relevant states announcement by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The talks will be led by Egyptian Hamdi Sanad Loza and his Turkish counterpart, Ambassador Sedat Onal.

The two men will explore the possibility of taking joint measures that could lead to the normalization of relations between Cairo and Ankara.
