European Union antitrust authorities are reportedly preparing a new, additional lawsuit against Apple in an investigation launched by Spotify, according to a person familiar with the case, cited by Reuters.
The European Commission has accused the iPhone maker of distorting healthy competition in the music streaming market in 2021 over restrictive terms in the App Store that force developers to use Apple’s payment system and bar them from updating users for payment alternatives.
This is the process of supplementing objections, which is used when the EU authorities have collected new information against a body or company on an existing case.
