Reuters poll: ECB will wait at least until the third quarter of 2024 before lowering interest rates

41 of 70 economists surveyed by Reuters say they expect the European Central Bank (ECB) to wait at least until the third quarter of 2024 before lowering interest rates.

The 70 economists said they expect the ECB’s deposit facility rate to remain unchanged at 4% until the end of the year.

Market reaction

The Euro did not show an immediate reaction to this headline. At the time of writing, the EUR/USD pair is trading above 1.0695, with a daily rise of just 0.05%.
