Russian gas giant Gazprom will resume transporting gas supplies via the Yamal-Europe pipeline from Poland to Germany later on Friday amid high demand in Europe, particularly from Italy, an industry source said. the Reuters agency.
Gazprom declined to comment. The pipeline has been operating in reverse, flowing east to Poland since late December.
The company has also increased gas exports to Europe via Ukraine, despite Russia’s military offensive in the country.
A capacity of 6.4 million kilowatt hours per hour (kWh / h) has been allocated to Gazprom via the Kondratki pipeline crossing on Friday until Saturday morning, according to the Polish system administrator Gaz-System.
However, there is no guarantee that deliveries to the west will continue, as Gazprom had also closed capacity in early February but did not use it.
