Revenue increased by € 1.28 billion in the quarter mainly due to indirect taxes

Tax revenues reached 12.090 billion euros in the January-March quarter, up 1.283 billion euros or 11.9% from the target set in the 2022 Budget report, according to the final budget execution data.

The over-execution of taxes is due to the extension of the deadline for payment of road taxes until the end of February 2022, the better return of taxes of the previous year collected in installments until the end of February 2022, as well as the significantly better return mainly of indirect taxes.

In particular, the excess of tax revenues for the quarter was formed by the excesses of the sub-categories of revenues as follows:

– VAT revenues amounted to 4,898 million euros and are increased against the target by 496 million euros.

– Revenue of EFK amounted to 1,530 million euros and is reduced against the target by 67 million euros.

– Real estate tax revenues amounted to 493 million euros and are higher than the target by 16 million euros.

– Revenue tax revenues amounted to EUR 3,515 million and are higher than the target by EUR 315 million.

The other revenue categories:

– The income of the category “Social Contributions” amounted to 14 million euros according to the target.

– Revenue in the “Transfers” category amounted to EUR 454 million, reduced by EUR 2,469 million compared to the target included in the 2022 Budget Report, mainly due to the non-collection of the expected tranche of TAA, amounting to EUR 1,718 million .

Revenue from “Sales of goods and services” amounted to EUR 169 million, up by EUR 46 million from the target set out in the 2022 Budget Report.

Revenue in the category “Other current revenue” amounted to EUR 535 million, up by EUR 67 million from the target set out in the 2022 Budget.

– Revenue from sales of fixed assets amounted to EUR 4 million, increased by EUR 4 million compared to the target set in the 2022 Budget Report.

Revenue in the category “Other current revenue” amounted to EUR 130 million, down by EUR 21 million from the target set in the 2022 Budget Report.

The total net revenue of the state budget amounted to 11,963 million euros, showing a decrease of 1,349 million euros or 10.1% compared to the estimate for the corresponding period included in the presentation report of the 2022 Budget.

However, the target of the report was the collection in February of the first installment for 2022 from the Fund for Recovery and Resilience (TAA) amounting to 1,718 million euros, which was collected on April 9, 2022 and will appear in the State Budget Execution Bulletin. April 2022. Excluding the amount from the TAA, net income increased by 369 million euros or 2.8% against the target, despite the reduced revenue of PDE.

The primary deficit is at 1.65 billion euros

Revenue trend combined with a € 1.059 million shortfall in expenditure against the target (EUR 16,905 million), which is included in the 2022 Budget report, formed a primary deficit of EUR 1,650 million, compared to a target of a primary deficit of EUR 1,331 million. and a primary deficit of € 3,413 million for the same period in 2021.
