Revenue Strike causes Carf to suspend sessions due to lack of quorum

The Administrative Council of Tax Appeals (Carf) published this Thursday (6) an ordinance suspending part of the sessions that would be held next week. The reason is the lack of a quorum due to the strike by employees of the Revenue.

Ordinance 129 is signed by the deputy president of CARF, Elaine Cristina Monteiro e Silva. In the document, she makes clear the reason for the suspension: “lack of a regimental quorum for the installation and deliberation of the collegiate, motivated by the adhesion of councilors representing the National Treasury to the wall movement of the functional category”.

The strike movement occurs because the Internal Revenue Service rebelled with the fact that the government has passed over the category and has not granted a bonus claimed for five years. The government, however, reserved resources in the Budget for the readjustment of police salaries.

As a result, dozens of employees of the Revenue handed over the positions, among the more than 60 councilors that make up CARF. The body is the administrative appeal body for tax and customs matters.
