Revolut will allow you to withdraw Bitcoin

British fintech company Revolut has launched a beta version of the service that allows you to withdraw the first cryptocurrency purchased on the platform, writes CoinDesk.

This opportunity has appeared for subscribers of the Metal service from the UK, which costs £ 12.99 per month.

According to Ed Kamer, head of the Revolut crypto division, 80,000 people signed up for this package, and half of them managed to acquire bitcoin.

In the future, the functionality will become available to customers from other countries.

At the initial stage, the daily withdrawal limit will be no more than £ 500, the monthly limit – within £ 1000. There are also restrictions on the number of addresses – initially there will be three.

The list of cryptocurrencies available for withdrawal will be further expanded to include all assets supported on the platform.

“Following Bitcoin, we will add Ethereum, other ERC-20 tokens and XRP,” explained Ed Cooper.

Previously, Revolut users could buy cryptocurrency and transfer it exclusively within the platform. The withdrawal of digital assets to third-party wallets was prohibited.

“Withdrawing cryptocurrencies has become the most requested feature. We are pleased that we have begun the gradual process of rolling it out. This is just the first step in a long list of planned improvements, ”said Neobank founder Nick Storonsky.

In early April 2021, Revolut expanded the list of supported cryptocurrencies from 11 to 21.

In March of this year, rival platform Robinhood announced the addition of a crypto wallet to the service.
