The Iranian Revolutionary Guards turn against the US Navy, accusing it of “provocative” actions, as on Monday (10/5) fired warning shots at Iranian army boats approaching the Gulf.
The Pentagon announced yesterday that the US Maui Coast Guard ship fired about 30 warning shots as 13 Revolutionary Guards speedboats approached it and other US Navy ships in the Strait of Hormuz, at the entrance to the Gulf.
In their announcement the Guards of the Revolution According to the Athenian News Agency, citing local media, the American ships were accused of “unprofessional behavior, such as helicopter flights, flare-ups and provocative and pointless fire”.

“It would be better for the Americans to refrain from unprofessional behavior and not to endanger the safety of the Persian Gulf by obeying the rules and regulations of the sea,” they said in a statement.
Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said Iranian ships were acting “very aggressively.”
This is the second time in a month that US warships have fired warning shots in response to what they call the unsafe behavior of Iranian ships in the region.
