In an interview with Uncut magazine, Paul recalled: “I don’t know if he would like me to tell that, but there he goes. It was at Delmonico Hotel at Park Avenue in New York, August 1964. We were in a room, all being good boys, taking our whiskey with Coca-Cola, I think it was a post show party. Dylan arrived and went to the room. Ringo went to see what was happening. Then he saw Dylan by ballotishing a based and tragped. He came back and we asked, ‘How was it?’ Then he said, ‘The ceiling is kind of coming down’. We all run to the room saying, ‘Give us a little, give it a little.’ So that was the first night we got stoned. ”
