The city of Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte recorded heat records this Saturday (18).
In BH, according to the municipal Civil Defense, a temperature of 32.8ºC was recorded at 1:40 pm at one of the city’s meteorological stations.
In Rio, 41.5ºC was recorded at 2pm, at the Irajá meteorological station, in the north of the city, according to the Rio Operations Center (COR).
Since last Friday (17), The city of Rio de Janeiro entered Heat Level 3 (NC3), when high heat levels (36°C to 40°C) are expected to remain or increase for at least three consecutive days.
Forecast for Sunday (20)
This Sunday (20), the heat should remain firm in both capitals, with maximum temperatures between 32ºC and 39ºC.
In Belo Horizonte, the maximum is 32ºC and the minimum is 19ºC.
In Rio de Janeiro, the predicted maximum is 38ºC, with minimums of 20ºC, with the possibility of rain showers and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon, according to information from the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet).
