Rio de Janeiro does not have patients hospitalized by Covid-19 in the municipal public network

For the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, the municipal public network in the city of Rio de Janeiro does not have patients with Covid-19 admitted to health units.

In a post on social media, the folder commented on the situation. “Science is winning in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Right now, the number of admissions for Covid-19 in municipal hospitals of the SUS in the city of Rio is zero” .

Despite the celebration, the Health Department remembers that this is a very dynamic number and there are no guarantees that it will remain zero for a long time.

With the decrease in the number of severe cases of coronavirus, beds in units dedicated to the treatment of the disease were demobilized.

In the worst moments of the pandemic, the number of patients in beds in the municipal public network exceeded 1,500. The occupation of ICUs reached almost 100% in the state capital.
