Three unidentified men were killed this Friday (28) during an operation by the Military Police in the Vila Kennedy community, in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro.
The purpose of the action, carried out by teams from the 14th BPM, in Bangu, was to arrest criminals involved in theft of vehicles and cargo, in addition to removing obstacles from the roads in the region and recovering stolen cars.

According to information provided by the Military Police in an official note, the agents were shot at by armed criminals in the area known as Garganta. In the confrontation, says the police, three men were hit and taken to the Hospital Municipal Albert Schweitzer, in Realengo, where they did not resist.
Community residents set tires on fire and caused the closure of Avenida Brasil in protest over the deaths that occurred in the operation. A man was arrested on suspicion of leading the group and the incident was forwarded to the 34th DP.
Policing has been reinforced in the region and traffic continues to flow normally.
The incident continued until early Friday afternoon.
