Rio Grande do Sul City Halls receive R$ 180 million from the Judiciary

The city halls of the municipalities affected by the May floods in Rio Grande do Sul received a transfer of R$ 180 million of the Judiciary. The event was held at the Palace of Justice, on Friday morning (7).

Resources were raised for response and restoration actions. 95 municipalities in calamity situations.

The state governor, Eduardo Leite, thanked the support and highlighted the importance of this allocation of resources.

“This admirable gesture needs to be given its due proportion. These are important values ​​that will continue to make a difference for us.”, he stated.

According to the state government, to receive the resources, municipalities must comply with the requirements of Decree 57,292/23, which defined fund-to-fund transfers, and request payment.

The distribution of resources will be defined according to the range of inhabitants from the Municipal Participation Fund.

The amounts transferred may be used in disaster response actions, such as relief and assistance, and in restoration actions, such as measures to guarantee safety, habitability and services for the population in the affected areas.

Upon receipt, the benefiting cities will have six months to carry out response and restoration actions.
