A man was arrested last Friday (17) in Rio de Janeiro after being filmed by security cameras while attacking a woman in Copacabana, an upscale area of Rio de Janeiro. The case occurred on November 14th on the corner of Rua Xavier da Silveira and Praça Eugênio Jardim.
The individual, whose identity was not revealed, was arrested for rape of a vulnerable person, according to the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro. This is because, according to the corporation, the victim was in a “state of vulnerability” and was unable to defend himself.
In the video, recorded between 3:30 am and 4:00 am on the 14th, it is possible to see the moment when the man attacks the woman. Shortly afterwards, a man passing by noticed the criminal act and helped the victim escape.
The Civil Police inform that, after carrying out a forensic examination, injuries were found on the victim’s body.
