A Metro train in the city of Rio de Janeiro derailed this Friday afternoon (29) between Maracanã and Triagem stations. Circulation on line 2 is suspended and stations are closed.
According to MetrôRio, the concessionaire that operates lines 1, 2 and 4, there were no injuries and the suspension will occur until the end of the day. The team reroutes the train.
In contact with CNN the State Civil Defense and Fire Department RJ said that a 52-year-old victim was treated at the scene and taken to Salgado Filho hospital.
The Fire Department also stated that teams are carrying out a sweep to check whether all passengers have been evacuated.
The concessionaire reported that lines 1 and 4 are operating normally at this time and the cause of the incident is being investigated.

MetrôRio informs that train circulation on line 2 will be suspended, with stations closed, until the end of operation this Friday (12/29). The concessionaire's teams continue to work to fully recover the track after the derailment of a train that occurred earlier. Line 2 service will return to normal operation from 5am on Saturday (12/30). At this time, lines 1 and 4 operate normally.
