Rio Police investigate “bags with bullets” in Carnival blocks

The Drug Enforcement Agency (DRE) opened an investigation into an alleged sale of bags containing MDMA, which were called “bullet bags”, as the synthetic drug is known, which is also used to manufacture ecstasy.

In a note to CNN the Military Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro (PMERJ) reported that this type of material that went viral on social media should become the target of investigation.

A post about the “sacolé de bala” went viral on X, formerly Twitter. The sale took place last Sunday (14), in a trial of a block at Aterro do Flamengo, South Zone of Rio.

On the sales sign, vodka sweets, in strawberry and coconut flavors, were sold for R$30.

Still in a statement, the PM stated that it operates in overt policing, and that, if a crime is detected in the act, those involved will be arrested.

The substance is normally consumed orally, in the form of powder, tablets or capsules.

Consumption is prohibited in Brazil, being a crime in article 28 of the Drug Law, which provides for the possession of drugs for personal use; and in article 33, for anyone who sells or produces – the penalty varies from 5 to 15 years in prison.

Scratchs

The consumption of MDMA associated with the bag can mask the effect of the drug during the first moment.

In case of poisoning, it can cause convulsions, mental confusion and even lead to death.
