An operation by the civil and military police of Rio de Janeiro found a marijuana greenhouse with hundreds of seedlings in a house located in the Pavuna neighborhood, north of the capital, this Thursday (27).
During the action, a woman and two men were arrested for being involved in drug trafficking. The location was identified after agents carried out an intelligence and monitoring information survey.
According to the investigation, the suspects were selling drugs from their home. As the investigation progressed, the teams found the residence and the greenhouse for growing the herb.
Furthermore, those involved had another property that was used for planting, according to PCERJ.
In total, the police seized several marijuana seedlings and seeds, as well as part of the product kept in bags ready for sale.
In a note sent to CNN the Rio Military Police reported that the operation took place in the communities of Serrinha, Fazendinha, São José da Pedra, Patolinha, Dendezinho, Visconde de Sabóia and Primavera, and aimed to “curb the actions of the faction that has regularly invested against other factions of the surrounding communities, crack down on vehicle theft and remove barricades.”
