Rio's elite Civil Police troops simulate terrorist attack in Christ

Around 40 agents from the elite troops of the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro, the Special Resources Coordination (CORE) participated, this Monday morning (15), in a simulation of a terrorist attack in one of the country's main postcards. , Christ the Redeemer, in the capital of Rio de Janeiro.

The objective of the training is to prepare the teams to receive and guarantee the safety of authorities at the G20, which takes place in November, in addition to training students from the Explosivist Training Course of the CORE Bomb Squad. The idea is to strengthen the ability to respond to threatening situations, ensuring the integrity of participants and the location.

The simulated exercise, which began at 4:30 am, consists of dealing with a suspicious package abandoned at the tourist spot, followed by a threat indicating that the suspects would still be nearby.

Training begins with complete isolation of the location, carried out by tactical teams. Afterwards, snipers are strategically positioned to ensure the security of the area, while aircraft and dogs assist in locating and identifying suspects.

Then, the Bomb Squad takes command of the operation, carrying out the procedure with the suspicious object, employing specialized techniques and state-of-the-art equipment to guarantee the safety of everyone present.
