The mining company Riot Blockchain reported that 406 BTC were mined on the company’s equipment in September this year. The coins have been moved to Riot wallets, which holds 3,534 BTC.
As noted in the press release, the growth of bitcoin production in September this year compared to September 2020 was 346%. So, in September last year, Riot mined only 91 BTC.
Since the beginning of the year, 2,457 BTC have been mined on Riot equipment, which is 236% higher than the results of the same period last year, when 731 BTC were mined. Now the wallets of the company contain 3,534 BTC, and all the coins were mined by the company on its own.
Riot currently operates 25,646 miners with a total hash rate of 2.6 Eh / s. At the beginning of the year, the company ordered 42,000 S19j Antminer ASIC miners from the Chinese manufacturer Bitmain for $ 138.5 million.
At the end of September, the Chinese manufacturer shipped another batch of 2,000 devices to Riot. In the near future the equipment will be installed and put into operation. Thus, the company will manage 27,646 miners, and their capacity will be 90 MW with a hash rate of 2.8 Eh / s.
Also in early October, 4,000 ASIC miners are to be shipped by Riot from Bitmain’s Malaysian factory. By the end of 2022, the Riot management plans to bring the total hashrate of the company’s equipment to 7.7 Eh / s.
