American mining company Riot Blockchain signed an agreement with Bitmain to purchase 42,000 Antminer S19j ASIC miners for a total of $ 138.5 million.

Bitmain will supply the mining company with 3,500 Antminer S19js each month from November 2021 to October 2022.
After deployment, the Riot Blockchain hashrate will increase by 3.7 EH / s. At the moment, the company’s computing capacity is estimated at 4 EH / s.
“Riot continues to increase the share of the company and the US as a whole in bitcoin hashrate,” said Megan Brooks, COO at Riot Blockchain.
Previously, Riot Blockchain planned to increase this figure to 3.8 EH / s by the end of 2021.
With the commissioning of the ordered equipment in operation, the Riot device fleet will be 81,150 Antminer miners, 95% of which are the latest generation S19 model.
In August 2020, Riot entered into an agreement with Bitmain to purchase 8,000 Antminer S19 Pros for $ 17.7 million, and then acquired an additional 5,100 devices for $ 11.2 million.
In October, the company paid for another 2,500 S19 Pro units. At the end of 2020, she ordered a new batch for $ 35 million.
