Ripple and Ava Labs Deny Allegations of Harassing Competitors with the Help of Roche Freedman Lawyers

Crypto Leaks claimed that Ripple and Ava Labs collaborated with law firm Roche Freedman to prosecute competitors. Company executives deny the allegations.

The Crypto Leaks material consists of several short videos from an unknown source. The publication alleges that Ava Labs has entered into a secret agreement with the law firm Roche Freedman to prosecute cryptocurrency organizations in a “gangster style” using the American legal system. Kyle Roche, a partner at the company, allegedly approached Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse about investing in Roche, and Garlinghouse accepted his offer.

In turn, Roche Freedman allegedly targeted Ripple’s competitors, bringing charges similar to those faced by Ripple itself in a legal battle with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The publication states that Roche previously collaborated with the Boies Schiller Flexner service, which represented the interests of Ripple during the lawsuit.

Garlinghouse denied claims on Twitter about funding the law firm. According to the head of Ripple, he never met or talked with Kyle Roche, much less invested in his company. The Ripple community has already rushed to defend Garlinghouse. Users noted that the claims against Ripple and Ava Labs are based only on Kyle Roche’s unsubstantiated comments. Ava Labs CEO Emin Gün Sirer also denies any collaboration with Roche.

“How can you believe such a ridiculous conspiracy theory published on Crypto Leaks? This publication writes inflammatory articles. We will never engage in illegal and unethical activities. Our technologies and team speak for themselves.”
wrote Gün Sirer on Twitter.

In June, Garlinghouse said that even if the litigation between Ripple and the SEC ends in the company’s favor, there will be no drastic changes in the cryptocurrency industry. Ripple will simply move to another jurisdiction.
