At the Bitcoin Conference conference in Las Vegas, Ripple Labs donated a steampunk-installation of the Satoshi skull cryptocurrency and transferred the object to the eternal storage of cryptocurrency museum in Nashville.

The installation of the Satoshi Skull was created in 2023 by the American artist Benamin Von Wong and the Greenpeace climatic activists group for conducting the change of code, not climate, aimed at criticizing the negative environmental impact of Bitcoin mining.

The work is a giant skull collected from old computer boards, with burning red eyes, symbolizing the destructive effect of bitcoin on the environment. Wong described the installation as the “scream of the planet about help”, emphasizing that it was created to draw attention to problems related to excessive energy consumption of bitcoin blockchain.

In the same year, Ripple received the “Satoshi skull” as a gift from Greenpeace, after which the installation was at its disposal until the museum was donated. Ripple Director General Brad Garlinghouse added that the transfer of the installation of cryptocurrency museum in Nashville is symbolic.

“Crypto and blockchain technologies become widely used, respected and understandable, it is time for us to put aside our differences and work together to promote the industry forward. I hope that this gesture will continue to remind people that BTC, XRP and other crypto communities have more in common than we think, ” – declared Garlinghaus.

The day before, the co -founder of Ripple, Chris Larsen said that his company had never financed or supported the environmental protection shares of Greenpeace and other environmental organizations against the negative consequences of digital asset mining.
