The presence of heavy clouds on the east coast of the Northeast, especially in the region of Paraíba, Pernambuco and Alagoas, warns of the possibility of new storms in areas affected by floods and landslides in recent days.
According to the Climatempo forecast, there is a risk of inconvenience to the population, especially in eastern Pernambuco, which includes the metropolitan region of Recife. The capitals São Luís, Fortaleza, Teresina, Natal, João Pessoa, Maceió and Aracaju also register alerts for heavy rains.
Between early morning on Sunday (29) and early morning on Tuesday (31), it rained from 50 to 102 mm in several areas of the capital of Alagoas, Maceió. Recife accumulated from 50 to 90 mm in the same period, according to data from Cemaden.
Other regions of Brazil should also expect a rainy week in the coming days. Roraima, in the north of Amapá and the coast of Pará received storm alerts; there is a risk of heavy rains in the capitals Curitiba, Campo Grande, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Boa Vista, Manaus, Macapá and Belém, in addition to the areas in the Northeast.
