Singer Rita Lee will be honored in the 2022 edition of Latin Grammyversion of Grammy dedicated to rewarding artists of Latin American origin.
She will receive on November 17, during a ceremony that takes place in Las Vegas, the “Lifetime Achievement Award”, which honors artists who have made significant contributions to the music industry.
The moment will feature the participation of Brazilian artists, such as Luísa Sonza, Agnes Nunes, Giulia Be, Paula Lima and Manu Gavassi, under the direction of producer Zé Ricardo.
“There are few things that leave me speechless, and Rita Lee is one of them”, said Luísa Sonza in a video she published on her social networks.
Rita Lee She has already been nominated for seven Latin Recording Academy awards, having won the Best Rock Album in Portuguese Language category for “3001”, the singer’s 29th work, released in 2001.
In May 2021, the singer discovered lung cancer, which according to the singer’s only child, Beto Lee, was cured in April 2022.
Lee’s discography has more than 30 albums, including solo works and with the group that catapulted her to success and marked Brazilian music, “Os Mutantes”.
