We didn’t even have time to rejoice for the first episodes of the new season (indeed, I don’t want to spoil but you better prepare the handkerchiefs, especially for the 5 × 03) that the official announcement of the renewal has already arrived: Riverdale has been confirmed for a sixth season. We’re happy!

To report the news was the Archie Comics, the comic book publishing house from which the events of the branded teen drama are taken CW. Nothing is known about the release date yet, but according to American media forecasts we will have to wait at least a couple of years. Up Netflix Italia this year the fourth season should arrive and currently in the USA the fifth is airing.
So, in spans, if Riverdale 6 were to be released overseas in 2022, it would arrive here in 2023 or 2024. But if you can’t wait, to pass the wait you could do a nice rewatch.

There are still no previews on synopsis, number of episodes, storylines or characters. The cast – at least for the regulars – should be the current one. But perhaps, given the time jump inaugurated with the fifth season, there could be some surprises. We will continue to monitor the social profiles of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the showrunner, and the main actors, in order to understand if they will spend the next few months on set a Vancouver.
To increase our hype, the first photos of the 5 × 04, broadcast today, have been published: 7 years have passed since the delivery of the diplomas and the protagonists, visibly changed, find themselves in the charming town of Riverdale.
From the trailer you can guess the lives and careers of each of them (if you haven’t got there yet, skip, so we avoid any spoilers) and the title of the episode, Purgatory, suggests that there may be a new mystery behind this reunion. On the other hand, it seems that the magical trio composed of Archie, Betty e Jughead has lived with real trauma, while Veronica she will introduce her husband to her longtime ex-boyfriend. I can’t wait to see this scene.
As we had already mentioned, the first three episodes ended the cycle that began with the fourth, suspended due to the health emergency. We have seen the prom, discovered lies and betrayals, felt hearts break, we have witnessed defeats and important choices for the future. In 5 × 03, as already announced, we also witnessed the farewell of FP Jones, the Serpent interpreted by Skeet Ulrich.
But the surprises do not end there, because a few days ago Kiernan Shipka, the protagonist of the show Terrifying Adventures of Sabrina, stated that she would not mind making an appearance on the show: “If you wanted to, I feel that Sabrina could come back to life. Plus she’s never been to Riverdale and I’d like to go there anyway, I’d like to take a look at that place… so I think it’s a possibility ».
This is not the first time this has been mentioned, so the possibility could also materialize. For everything else, we will find out only by living.
