Because of a fight, a 17-year-old teenager ran over a group of people leaving a party, in Bento Ribeiro, in the north of Rio, this Sunday (14). According to residents, the young man is known for starting fights in the region.
Images show the moment in which the boy passes the car, at speed, over at least four people, who were walking on the street. According to reports, it all happened on purpose, after a fight. The teenager reportedly got angry and went home to get the functional vehicle used by his mother. The car even has the logo of a third-party company, which provides services to Mobi-Rio, operator of the BRT System.
Witnesses also caught, in another video, the confusion between the minor and other young people, before the collision. See that the group of boys leaves in front of a party from which they would have been expelled by security, moments before.
The Fire Department was called. A boy, identified as Marcos Iuri da Silva Costa, aged 19, was injured and was taken to the Getúlio Vargas State Hospital, in Penha. According to the Rio State Health Department, the patient is in serious condition.
The boy who ran over the group was taken to the Marechal Hermes Police Station (30th DP). The teenager was interviewed, along with his legal guardian. Agents are looking for images from security cameras in the region and will listen to victims and witnesses.
In a note, Mobi-Rio reported that it notified the company Ferreira Soluções, responsible for the vehicle, which works as a subcontractor providing maintenance services for rolling doors for BRT system stations.
“For having committed the infraction of improper use of a vehicle characterized for service, Mobi-Rio has already notified the company that it will be fined, its contract will be terminated and it will also be suspended from bidding and contracting with the Administration,” he said in the statement.
