The governor of Rio de Janeiro, Claudio Castro, said on Monday (19) that the police will not leave the city of God until those responsible for the death of the Civil Police elite troop agent are located.
The statement was made in a post on social networks, where the governor also sympathized with the family and friends of civil police officer José Antônio Lourenço killed during an operation inside the favela.
“The loss of one of our will always be felt in pain, but this cowardly act will not be unpunished. The answer will be given to the height.”

In the publication, Castro also stressed that those who close schools, hospitals and paralyze public services, are not the state or the police, but the criminals.
José Antônio Lourenço, was 39 years old, worked in the management of Mayor Eduardo Paes (PSD). He was Under -Secretary of Public Order of the City of Rio. He died after being shot during an operation against contaminated ice sold that was sold on beaches in the west of the city.
He was rescued to Lourenço Jorge Municipal Hospital in Barra da Tijuca, but did not resist and died.
The agent was the third member of the Coordination of Special Resources (Core) to be shot in the last two months in the capital of Rio.
