The Rio Civil Police arrested, in the early hours of this Monday (14), the head of drug trafficking in the community of Santa Maria, in Taquara, in the West Zone of Rio. Vinicius Marinho de Oliveira was found by agents from the 19th DP (Tijuca) in a club on Rua José Perigault, in Taquara. The 26th DP (Todos Santos), 38th DP (Brás de Pina) and the Narcotics Repression Police Station (DRE) also participated in the arrest.
Vinicius was arrested red-handed for receiving and tampering with a motor vehicle signal . He had a stolen Mercedes Benz car, model C18 CGI, with a cloned license plate and chassis. There was also an arrest warrant against him for the crime of qualified homicide.
According to the chief delegate of the 19th DP, Álvaro de Oliveira Gomes, Vinicius has an extremely violent profile and encouraged criminal actions by his associates against rival communities and military police officers.
In 2015, he and other criminals simulated a gold sale to attract Portuguese Army lieutenant Douglas Clemente Ferreira, aged 29. Vinicius and his companions managed to get R$40,000.00 from Douglas. The amount was taken by the bandits to buy the supposed gold offered, but the men later executed the lieutenant with four shots. The victim’s body was found charred in a community in Santa Cruz, in the West Zone.
Since then, Vinicius was arrested for robbery, robbery followed by death but left prison in August this year. Investigations indicate that since then, shootings have increased significantly in Taquara and the surrounding area.
According to the Police, Vinícius was also responsible for the attack on a team from the Special Police Operations Battalion (BOPE). On that occasion, one of the bandits was killed and two rifles and five explosive devices were seized from him. In another recent criminal action, military police officers from the 18th BPM were attacked while patrolling in the region.
The man also has police records for illegal possession of a firearm, active corruption and disobedience.
