RJ Government Driver is exonerated after running over youthful in BRT track

The driver of a vehicle of the Civil House of the State Government of Rio de Janeiro was dismissed of the server board after run over and kill a student 17 years old on the morning of Tuesday (25).

The case was registered at the 28th Police Station (Campinho), where he gave testimony and should answer for manslaughter, when there is no intention to kill.

The accident occurred in the exclusive gutter of BRT Transcarioca, in Rua Cândido Benício, in the Campinho neighborhood, west of the city, near Pinto Telles station and Maria Terezinha State College.

Young Fernanda Vitoria Cavalcante Alves had just left school and crossed the street when she was hit by the car.

According to the Fire Department, the drive for help happened around 10:30 am, but the student could not resist the injuries and died on the spot.

Mobi-Rio, the company responsible for the BRT transport system, confirmed that the vehicle was traveling exclusively at the time of the accident. In a statement, the State Government regretted the tragedy and said it was providing support to the family through the State Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy.
