RJ: Influencers accused of racial injury do not attend trial

Digital influencers Kerollen Cunha and Nancy Gonçalves, accused of racial injury after delivering banks and monkeys to two black children in São Gonçalo, in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro, did not attend the first trial hearing last Thursday (13).

Despite the absence, a psychologist chosen for the Special Center for Support for Children and the Adolescent of the case heard one of the victims who attended the hearing and then his legal guardian. The other child, who was also a victim, was not the audience, although he was notified.

Judge Simone Ferraz chose the day April 8 for the continuation of the hearing Started last Thursday, when the second child will have the opportunity to be heard by a psychologist from the Special Testimony of Children and Adolescents (Nudeca).

For the next date, will also be awaited the testimonies of the head of the second child, in addition to the two influencers accused of racial injury and other witnesses of prosecution and defense.

Remember the case

Kerollen Cunha and Nancy Gonçalves, who are a mother and daughter, became investigated for racial injury against two children in São Gonçalo after delivering jokes of monkeys and bananas to black children. The action was recorded and published on social networks maintained by the duo. After the negative repercussion, they deleted the record.

The investigation began after the digital influencer and law expert Fayda Belo recorded a video exposing the case. According to her, mother and daughter practiced recreational racism, which is when there is an attitude of discrimination to promote fun.
