The Rio de Janeiro civil police identified the two occupants of the vehicle involved in a police chase that occurred in the early hours of this Wednesday (22), in Rio de Janeiro. The escape took place over more than 20 kilometers and ended with the vehicle and the suspects' car overturning. In the accident, four people died, including the two military police officers who were involved in the incident.
The suspects were called Thiago Henrique Medeiro Figueiredo and Diego Ferreira Amaral. According to the police, both are investigated for homicide and drug trafficking in the state of Minas Gerais.
Thiago had an outstanding arrest warrant. A false identity document was found with him, in the name of another person.
The civil police will carry out an examination of the vehicle used by the fugitives, which has gunshot marks. The case is being investigated by the 15th Police Station, in Gávea.
The car, which is registered in the city of Montes Claros (MG), had no restrictions and no theft information in Rio de Janeiro's public security system.
The dead police officers were identified as Bruno Paulo da Silva and Bruno William Batista de Souza Ribeiro.
Silva leaves behind a wife, a 15-year-old son and a 2-year-old son. Ribeiro leaves, in addition to his wife, a 4-year-old son.

According to the Military Police, the chase began on the Red Line, at Km 19.5, in Duque de Caxias, a municipality in Baixada Fluminense.
Police officers from the Expressway Police Battalion (BPVE) attempted to approach a car that did not stop and fled the scene.
According to the corporation, the car being pursued went down the Linha Vermelha, passed through the Rebouças tunnel and, on the way down to Jardim Botânico, more than 20 kilometers after the start of the escape, both vehicles ended up overturning.
With the impact of the crash, the two military police officers who were in the vehicle and the two occupants of the car died instantly.
