RJ Police are looking for two fugitives who participated in a raid on the BRT

The Civil Police are looking for two of the suspects involved in a raid carried out on a BRT in Barra da Tijuca, in Rio de Janeiro. The criminals, identified as Maissa dos Santos, aged 19, and Everton Silva Figueira, aged 18, participated in the action that took place on December 28th.

The information was released by the corporation this Sunday (5). Seven armed criminals, including a teenager, invaded a BRT and robbed six passengers. So far, four of the suspects have been arrested and the teenager has been apprehended.

However, Maissa and Everton remain at large. According to the Civil Police, Everton was the one who shot one of the victims in the head.

Capture of those involved

Last Saturday (4), Eduardo de Jesus Gonçalves, 18 years old, identified as one of the suspects, presented himself at the 35th Police Station of Campo Grande. He was detained and taken to the 16th Police Station (Barra da Tijuca). Another person involved, Salomão Pires Silva, 22, went directly to the Barra police station.

A third, João Victor de Oliveira da Silva, also 22 years old, was arrested by the PM last Friday (3), suspected of stealing copper cables in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro.

In addition to them, a teenager involved in the robbery went to the 5th Police Station (Mem de Sá) and was taken to the 16th Police Station, where he gave a statement. The minor was apprehended.

The dragnet on the BRT

On December 28, 2024, seven armed criminals invaded a BRT between Pedra de Itaúna and Riomar stations, in Barra da Tijuca, and robbed six passengers.

During the action, the victims had cell phones, wallets and other belongings taken. A video obtained by CNN shows the action of the bandits during the robbery:
