The Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro confirmed to the CNN this Friday (10) that the body rescued last Wednesday (8) is that of a 16-year-old teenager who disappeared at sea in Ipanema, in the capital of Rio de Janeiro, last Sunday (5). At the time, two other people were rescued alive.
The body was found near the Cagarras Islands on Wednesday afternoon (8) and sent to the IML for forensic examination.
According to the RJ Fire Department, the searches were carried out with the help of a helicopter, drone and watercraft.
On the same day that the young man disappeared, a storm hit the coast and Avenida Delfim Moreira, close to Ipanema Beach, following the effects of a cyclone at sea. An alert issued by the Navy that day predicted waves from 2.5 m to 3.5 m high.
City hall employees had to remove the sand from the beach avenue in Leblon after the storm.
