The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police are after the man who killed influencer Mauro Jorge Monteiro Canelas Pinto, 59, known on social media for commentating on Vasco da Gama games. The perpetrator of the crime was identified as Carlos Eduardo de Azevedo Silva, 43.
The images from a security camera that Mauro had in the car, obtained by the police, show the moment in which he has a conversation with Carlos Eduardo.
The victim even says, before getting out of the vehicle: “What do you want, Dudu? Do you want to talk to me, do you want to hit me, do you want to kill me?” From afar, she can hear the two exchanging insults. Next, Mauro Jorge shouts: “Dudu, you put the knife in, you’re going to kill me, Dudu! Look what you did! (…) My God, help me here, man. The guy put the knife in me…”
Moments after this recording, the influencer gets into the car, already injured by the knife.
Street surveillance cameras showed what happened outside the vehicle. The action was quick. The victim arrives first. Soon after, Carlos Eduardo stops the vehicle and the two argue. After stabbing Mauro Jorge, he leaves and people try to help, but it's too late. The body was found a short time later, still in the same location.
The crime took place on the 11th in São Gonçalo, in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro. Five days later, the investigation was concluded by the Niterói, São Gonçalo and Itaboraí Homicide Police Station (DHNSGI).
In addition to analyzing the cameras, witnesses were also interviewed. The investigation found that, after an argument in a bar, Carlos Eduardo went to his home to get a knife. According to the Civil Police, he intercepted the victim in the car and the two had another argument, which culminated in the coup.
Although there is already a preventive arrest warrant for qualified homicide against Carlos Eduardo, he is on the run. This Thursday (22), Hotline published a poster asking for help in locating the suspect.
