Singer Luana Carvalho, daughter of samba dancer Beth Carvalho, tested positive for Covid-19, after participating in an event with Mayor Eduardo Paes and other famous people in Rio de Janeiro.
In her social networks, Luana claims to have been vaccinated against Covid-19 and that she has mild symptoms. In addition to the singer and Mayor Eduardo Paes, musicians Moacyr Luz and Jorge Aragão and two secretaries of Paes’ administration were present at the meeting.
In the fraternization records, published on social networks, the attendees appeared without a mask, necessary protection, even more in view of the increase in suspected cases of the Ômicron variant. Only in the capital are 94 people investigated.
“I know that the vast majority are unable to stop, but this Ômicron is not fooling around. Whoever can, hold on. And do and repeat tests before agglomerating”, posted the artist.
The mayor of Rio de Janeiro insisted on speaking out on his social networks after the event and spoke about his situation. “Properly tested and without Covid”.
A CNN asked the Secretary of Education of Rio, Renan Ferreirinha, also present, if he had taken any tests after the meeting and I await an official position.
Musicians Moacyr Luz and Jorge Aragão have yet to comment on the party. By municipal decree, the use of a mask is mandatory in closed and crowded places. The release of the face shield is only allowed in open and empty spaces.
