RJ: Woman is killed in worship after faithful are confused with militia

The Baixada Fluminense Homicide Police Station (DHBF) investigates the death of 57 -year -old Sebastiana Luiz da Silva, hit by firearm shots while participating in an evangelical worship On Sunday night (13), in Belford Roxo, in Baixada Fluminense.

According to witnesses, the victim was gathered with other faithful in a moment of prayer in the Babi neighborhood, when traffickers from the Sapo community, located nearby, would have confused the religious group with militiamen .

The suspicion would have arisen, according to reports, due to the type of garment used by the service participants.

Also according to the testimonials, the criminals went to the scene and, when faced with the faithful, caused rush. Sebastiana tried to protect himself, but was eventually shot. She was even rescued and taken to Belford Roxo Municipal Hospital, but could not resist the injuries.

The body of the victim was sent to the Medical-Legal Institute (IML) and the burial is expected to take place on Monday afternoon (14), at the Rio Memorial Cemetery, in Cordovil, North Zone of Rio de Janeiro.

Investigations are confidential and the police work to clarify the circumstances of the crime and identify those responsible.
