A load of 520,000 eggs used to produce flu vaccines, produced by the Butantan Institute, is being blocked by truck drivers near Jundiaí, in the interior of São Paulo.
According to the Butantan Institute, if the products do not arrive at the institution by the end of the morning of this Tuesday (1st), the manufacturing process could be impacted, causing a loss in the production of 1.5 million doses of the immunizing agent against the influenza virus.
Butantan annually supplies 80 million doses of flu vaccine to the Ministry of Health. The doses are used to immunize Brazilians and prevent severe cases of the disease, especially among the elderly and children.
The Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes ruled this Tuesday morning that agents of the Military Police (PM) are authorized to work on state and federal highways for immediate clearance and to prevent the difficulty of passing vehicles.
The Supreme Court minister also authorized the Military Police to identify trucks used to block traffic so that a fine of R$ 100,000 per hour and arrest in the act can be applied.
