An assault on two jewelry stores at Shopping Parque D.Pedro in Campinas , in the interior of São Paulo, ended in a shooting and a death on Saturday night (25). Three people were arrested in the act, according to information from the Civil Police, and an unidentified suspect died after the action.
The crime took place around 8 pm, business hours and high traffic of customers in the mall. According to the police report, the robbers broke into the two stores, carried out the robbery, but were approached by security guards at the time of the escape.
In the confrontation, shots were exchanged, which ended up hitting two mall guards, at least one member of the group of criminals, and also the window of one of the stores in the shopping center. In a statement, Parque D. Pedro reported that “no customer was injured”, and that the mall “cooperates with the investigations”.
