The actor ROBERT DE NIRO 81, will receive a Honorary Gold Palm In this year’s edition of Cannes Festival . The award will be delivered on May 13th and will be succeeded by a star lecture on the Debussy Theater stage.
Throughout his career, by Niro was at the festival several times, having been president of the jury in 2011, when Terrence Malick’s “The Tree of Life” took the Golden Palm.
“There are faces that embody the seventh art and dialogues that forever mark the movie buffs. With their internalized interpretation, which emerges in the softness of a smile or the hardness of a look, Robert de Niro has become a myth of cinema,” the festival said in a press announcement.
In addition to his work as an actor, by Niro will be revered by his commitment to revitalize the new York art scene in the United States when Tribeca Festival in 2002.
Currently seen in Netflix’s “Zero Day” miniseries, known as great film films, such as “Taxi Driver”, “The Good Companions”, “The Mighty Boss 2”, “The King of Comedy”, “The Irish” and “The King of Comedy”, has commented on the honor in the statement.
